Running a Validator Node

Overview

Validator Nodes play a key role in the QuStream blockchain, validating transactions, securing the network, and participating in the Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism.

Validators earn rewards from two sources:

1️⃣ Staking Rewards – Earn QST based on a 200,000 QST minimum stake.
2️⃣ Revenue Share – 15% of QuStream’s total encryption service revenue is distributed among validators.

Validator Node Responsibilities

  • Process and validate transactions on the QuStream blockchain.
  • Participate in Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus by proposing and finalizing blocks.
  • Earn staking rewards + revenue share from QuStream encryption services.
  • Maintain high availability and network reliability to prevent penalties.

Hardware & Software Requirements

Minimum Hardware Requirements:

  • CPU: 4+ cores
  • RAM: 16GB+
  • Storage: 512GB NVMe SSD
  • Network: 1Gbps connection

Software Requirements:

  • OS: Linux (Ubuntu recommended) or Windows Server
  • QuStream Node Software (latest release)
  • Docker (recommended for setup)

For installation steps, see Node Installation Guide.

Staking & Revenue Rewards

  • Minimum Stake: 200,000 QST required to run a validator.
  • Delegated Staking: Validators can accept QST delegations from users.
  • Revenue Share: 15% of encryption service revenue is distributed to validators.
  • Standard Commission: Validators take a fee (0-100%) from delegated staking rewards.

How to Become a Validator

1️⃣ Install the QuStream Node Software.
2️⃣ Stake 200,000 QST to qualify.
3️⃣ Connect to the QuStream Testnet for validation.
4️⃣ Start Validating Transactions & Earning Rewards.

Why Run a Validator Node?

  • Earn from staking & revenue share – Two sources of income.
  • Help secure the network – Critical role in blockchain consensus.
  • Participate in governance – Validators shape network policies.

Conclusion

Running a Validator Node ensures security, decentralization, and financial rewards within the QuStream network. Operators earn staking rewards + a share of encryption revenue, making validation a key component of the ecosystem.
